CARDBOARD FURNITURE PROJECTS
This project I did with a lot hardwork. We made this furniture project using cardboard, and we need to do all by ourselves, from cutting the cardboard and assemble it one by one. That's why we need to spend more time to do our work.
As usual when we design something we did our research first, and coming up with using trestle table as my main idea. Then I think of some way to make it more interesting and more interactive, so my teachers recommend me to put some storage into it. So I designed a drawer with one side lower to make user experience more easy, the other side I can give it a unique design for my trestle table.
Yota Kakuda's work
And for my joinery that I applied to my furniture I inspired by Yota Kakuda's work. That his furniture just using slotting to assemble them together and left it shown to give some interesting details. Then I also applied it into my furniture. So that's why I can show you some details in my work. And actually my furniture can stand just only by slotting them. But because of I need to make it more stable for my scoring, then I glued it.
For the drawers, I want to make it from some metals plate. That's why when you zoom it out you can see I just bend the cardboard without using any joinery. It is because I want to show as closely as possible with the real material.
